I am a fully qualified and insured psychological therapist. I hold a first class degree in psychology and am currently in the final stages of completing a Doctorate in Counselling Psychology at UWE Bristol. As a graduate member of the British Psychological Society (BPS), I am professionally bound to uphold their principles and ethical code of conduct. I have over 10 years’ experience of working therapeutically both on an individual level, and within groups, having provided psychological therapy and support in various establishments including: The Nelson’s Trust; Evesham & Pershore Mind; Evesham & District Mental Health Support Services; Rethink Mental Illness, and the 2gether NHS Foundation Trust. Presently, I am one of the Psychological Therapists at Leckhampton Psychology Service:
My private practice is in central Cheltenham at: https://thepracticerooms.co.uk/
I have always wanted to be a psychologist from as far back as I can remember. Life's twists and turns however, have led me to take the more scenic route to achieving this goal. Although, I would not have consciously chosen this, I now fully believe that my life experiences have served in helping me to become a more genuine and empathic therapist.
Although I understand that individuals in every stage of history may have felt they live in challenging times, and have done so, I truly feel that now can be a particularly perplexing time to be alive. There is so much information surrounding us and at our fingertips. The multitude of conflicting "truths" we can experience can often contribute to confusion and conflict with others and within ourselves, making it all the more difficult to tune into who we really are. Oftentimes, it feels impossible to make the space to explore this, and we can easily become so lost, but feel we just have to keep going.
I adhere to create a safe space to be heard, where I can help you to explore where you are in the world and within your relationships and, where you may prefer to be.
Despite these challenges, I believe that we now live in a time where there is more potential than ever for personal growth. Especially, if we allow ourselves the time, space and support often required to help us to flourish.
"We think too much and feel too little. More than machinery we need humanity.
More than cleverness, we need kindness and gentleness"
- Charlie Chaplin
